To advocate and institute the appropriate nursing interventions, according to the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts, for all medical needs of assigned program participants focusing on optimal health for all
individuals. The licensed practical nurse bears full responsibility for the quality of healthcare he/she provides. The Licensed practical nurse is responsible for each individual to live a safe, enjoyable life in
their community with opportunities to learn and to exercise increasing independence and control over their lives. The people we support participate in hiring, training and evaluation of employees who work with them. The agency and its employees are responsible to the people we support. Schedules are determined by programmatic needs and maintained by assigned Residence and Area
Directors.
This is a direct support position providing individual medical support and education to individuals in assigned program. He /she will comply with the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts and operate under
the scope of licensure. Staff is also responsible for the provision of day-to-day services to program participants.

The Unit Nurse Delivers student nursing care, and through use of systematic method of taking independent nursing action, assesses ad documents the effects of care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Unit Nurse works cooperatively with the ancillary, nursing, and other student- team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. The functions of the Unit Nurse are carried out according to the school policy, the school mission statement and state regulations.
- Coordinate the care for student with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, life threatening allergies, seizure disorders etc.
- Communicate with staff to ensure the health and well-being of the students.
- Write care plans
- Administering prescribed medications per physicians’ orders and monitor delegated medication administration.
- Provide first aid care/treatment for minor injuries
- Health assessments, treating per protocol, or referring to physician for care, as necessary.
- Educate and train staff about asthma, life threatening allergies, diabetes, and infection control.
- Oversee the overall healthcare for the students assigned to their unit
- Attends education reviews, ISP's and team meetings.
- Responds to life saving and emergency situations for staff and students based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Participates in the observation of students, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of student's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Conducts sick call procedures for student injuries and illnesses based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
- Participates in the explanation of procedures and treatments to the student and families to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.

Job Duties:
· Coordinate the care for student with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, life threatening allergies, seizure disorders etc.,

Provide direct support to individuals served including providing assistance in personal care activities. Perform the required training and documentation necessary for group and individual participant goal achievement. Work with Physical Therapist to develop and implement sensory integration, fine and gross motor activities.
$32 - $34 per hour

Provide medical oversight and health care, assessment, and promotion of overall health for people supported by Seven Hills RI. Ensures daily health care needs are met liaising with stakeholders and the community regarding ongoing health care needs. Utilizes independent judgment and operational autonomy within the field of case management.

The RN is responsible for reviewing the information with the Enrollees, gathered in the
comprehensive assessment; reviewing the Enrollee’s care plan; conducting medication reviews and
providing oversight of LPN (not more than two) staff employed by MCCN; meeting weekly with
each LPN to review difficult cases; providing specialty Care Coordination with other medical
providers; and being available for both telephonic and in-person consultations for acute changes of
status in Enrollees.
