Stetson School is an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation. We are a residential treatment program for male youth ages 9 years -22 years with trauma related complex behaviors, currently hiring Nursing staff for all shifts.
The Nurse Manager will supervise the nursing department by providing:
- Supervision of nurses and nursing department staff, including oversight for all nursing duties and responsibilities.
- Overall organization and coordination of the nursing department.
- Hiring and supervising the orientation of nurses and other nursing department staff.
- Chairing nursing meetings, and ensuring the recording and distribution of minutes.
- Coordinates orientation to nursing and health care services for all new Stetson School staff.
- Trains all new staff on Universal Precautions, including infection control, hand washing techniques, biomedical hazards, summer health hazards, and epi-pen administration.
- Organizes medication administration training of supervisors, senior counselors, and other designated staff via the Massachusetts MAP program.
- Coordination of psychiatric services.
- Nursing chart audits.
- Liaison between Stetson School and the Barre Family Health Center and other community-based health facilities.
- Coordinates with psychiatrist and medical director to update yearly standing doctor's orders.
- Liaison with and management of contact and relationships with pharmacies, laboratories, and other adjunct services.
- Writes and updates health care policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Ensures adherence with all policies, protocols, and procedures, for all nursing department staff.
- Completes Nursing department staff evaluations and disciplinary actions, if deemed necessary.
- Scheduling and oversight of after-hours nursing on-call system.
- Communicate procedures for handling insurance and provider information.
- Attends all departmental and agency meetings, student-related meeting and case reviews, and trainings as required.

Job Duties:
· Coordinate the care for student with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, life threatening allergies, seizure disorders etc.,
· Communicate with staff to ensure the health and well-being of the students.
· Write care plans
· Administering prescribed medications per physicians’ orders and monitor delegated medication administration.
· Provide first aid care/treatment for minor injuries
· Health assessments, treating per protocol, or referring to physician for care, as necessary.
· Educate and train staff about asthma, life threatening allergies, diabetes, and infection control.
SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant assists the Director of Nursing and Licensed Practical Nurse in delivering client nursing care. The Medical Assistant will work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other Congregate Care Administration to maintain standards for practice. Duties are both clinical and administrative. The functions of the Medical Assistant are carried out according to agency policy, program specific practices and protocols, and State regulations.

In collaboration with the Medical Director the Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and participating in the direct medical care and treatment of clients along with supervision of all nursing staff, establishment and implementation of health-related policies within the agency, hiring, training and staff development. This position is also responsible for monitoring policies, procedures, and training medication administration for staff.
An Active Treatment nurse bears full responsibility for the quality of health care he/she provides to the residents at Seven Hills Pediatric Center. An Active Treatment nurse may delegate nursing activities to assigned health care personnel. The delegating active treatment nurse shall bear full responsibility to obtain appropriate assignment for planned activity; review resident status with team nurse, communicate and coordinate care of residents; monitor status of residents involved in activities; adequately teach, direct and supervise the delegate(s); nursing care of residents during activities that may include, but is not limited to, assessments, g-tube feeding, medications, responding to resident alarms, monitoring seizure activity, monitoring respiratory status; ensure safe return of residents (pulse ox, vent) to nursing units or bedrooms as directed by the team nurse; supervise the Activities/Active Treatment staff on the evening shift and on weekends and holidays; and actively participant in evening and weekend field trips.An Active Treatment nurse provides quality care to children and young adults in accordance of the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts.

Provides health care, assessment, and promotion of overall health for people supported by Seven Hills RI. Ensures daily health care needs are met liaising with day program and the community regarding ongoing health care needs. Utilizes independent judgment and operational autonomy within the field of case management.
To advocate for all medical needs of assigned program participants focusing on optimal health for all individuals. To perform required nursing activities including medication administration, documentation and direct support. To float to other ASPiRE! prograqms as assigned / needed.
Provide direct service to students under the age of 22 as outlined in their IEPs. Provide consultaion ti the instructors of the adult program.
Facilitate the integration of communication goals with periodic consultation with therapy, nursing, and education staff.
Assist in developing communication goals for students. Develop communication goals for students and provide class instruction and consultation to reach stated goals.
Provide facility staff training when appropriate. Interface with state and federal agencies as required.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers student nursing care, and through use of the systematic method of taking independent nursing action, assesses and documents the effects of care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the quality of health care he/she provides to students. The Licensed Practical Nurse works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other student-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. The functions of the Licensed Practical Nurse are carried out according to school policy, the school mission statement, and State regulations.
