The Relief Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading a shift of residential counselor staff in one of YOU, Inc.’s 24-hour/7-day-a-week acute or congregate care settings. To this end, the Relief Shift Supervisor is part of a pool of staff that provides intermittent and/or season staffing support as needed. The Relief Shift Supervisor works in ratio as part of a team of staff, with the responsibility for creating, monitoring, and maintaining a therapeutic treatment milieu. Relief Shift Supervisors are considered “essential employees” when they are on shift and as such may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift in order to maintain client-to-staff ratios and/or be required to report to work if they are scheduled during declared states of emergency.
The Relief Shift Supervisor ensures the safety and supervision of staff and youth in the program, cultivates a therapeutic treatment milieu, maintains the daily programming schedule, cultivates a professional team of staff, maintains appropriate boundaries while developing supportive professional relationships with both staff and youth, participates in the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility, documents client care, and if necessary, utilizes agency physical management interventions.

This Assistant Residential Director is responsible for providing day-to-day services to program participants. The Residential Counselor provides direct care to youth in one of YOU, Inc.’s 24-hour/7-day-a-week acute or congregate care settings. Provide direct service to students under the age of 22 as outlined in their IEPs. Provide consultaion ti the instructors of the adult program.
Facilitate the integration of communication goals with periodic consultation with therapy, nursing, and education staff.
Assist in developing communication goals for students. Develop communication goals for students and provide class instruction and consultation to reach stated goals.
Provide facility staff training when appropriate. Interface with state and federal agencies as required.
