Seven Hills Rhode Island is looking for a Health Services Assistant to assist our dedicated Health Services Department in providing exceptional health care delivery to participants.

This role is critical in supporting participants' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Whether you're managing health appointments, ensuring a clean and safe environment, or supporting individuals with their daily needs, your work will directly impact the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Essential Support: Assist individuals in maintaining their health and well-being, including personal care and transportation to medical appointments.

  • Support Healthcare Delivery: Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and team members to ensure the best care for participants.

  • Maintain Safety and Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and safe environment that ensures the physical and emotional well-being of participants.

  • Transport Participants: Safely transport individuals to and from medical appointments, community activities, and day programs.

  • Promote Healthy Behavior: Model healthy behavior and positive social skills to encourage wellness and social development.

  • Ensure Effective Communication: Relay appointment and health information to the nursing staff to ensure seamless care.

  • Follow Policies & Procedures: Ensure all actions and tasks comply with Seven Hills’ policies, health and safety protocols, and human rights regulations.

  • Handle Emergencies: Be prepared to respond to safety hazards or medical emergencies promptly and effectively.

  • Promote Organizational Values: Represent Seven Hills with professionalism, respect, and compassion in all interactions.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of preventative health care practices and medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and basic Excel for documentation and communication.
  • A compassionate, flexible approach to working with individuals in a health care setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET) required.

  • 1-3 years of related experience, including at least 1 year in the health care field and 2 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Valid driver’s license (Class C or D).
