Seven Hills Rhode Island is seeking a skilled and compassionate Assistant Residence Director – Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support residential services for individuals with developmental and behavioral needs. This role combines leadership, direct care, and applied behavior support to ensure high-quality, person-centered services in a structured residential setting.

 

The Assistant Residence Director (RBT) assists in overseeing the daily operations of a residential program while providing direct support to individuals. This position plays a key role in staff supervision, behavior plan implementation, and program coordination. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, including Behavior Specialists, the Assistant Residence Director helps ensure consistent, effective support strategies that promote independence, safety, and community integration.

Responsibilities

Direct Support & Behavioral Services

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals, modeling best practices for staff
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) consistently and effectively
  • Collaborate with Behavior Specialists to support positive behavioral outcomes
  • Monitor and document progress, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting
  • Assist individuals in developing daily living skills, social engagement, and community participation

Program Operations & Coordination

  • Assist in overseeing day-to-day residential operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment
  • Support planning and coordination of meaningful social and community activities
  • Ensure transportation to appointments, programs, and activities as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and service records
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and licensing requirements

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Assist in supervising, training, and coaching residential staff
  • Serve as a team leader, providing guidance on behavior support strategies and care practices
  • Promote a collaborative and professional team environment
  • Support staff in maintaining required certifications and training compliance

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Support medication administration and ensure adherence to healthcare plans
  • Promote the physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being of individuals served
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and safety concerns
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Human Rights regulations, and safety protocols
  • Participate in incident reviews and quality assurance processes

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Assist in managing participant funds and household budgets
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reconciliation of billable services
  • Support inventory and supply management for the residence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1–3 years of experience in human services, behavioral health, or a related field
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including participation in on-call responsibilities
  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification, or completion within 6 months of hire
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
