Annual Salary: $85,000-$95,000 
Sign on bonus: $5,000 (paid quarterly over 18 months)
The Residential Director coordinates and directs the treatment teams and the overnight team. Ensures integrated services, effective support, and communication systems. Integrates the Residential Department to ensure singularity of purpose, mission, goal, and focus. Functions as an integral member of the administrative team.

Responsibilities

Student Advocacy

  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of safety and supervision standards for all students.

  • Oversee investigations of alleged abuse, neglect, or system failures; ensure documentation and safety precautions are executed.

  • Maintain a therapeutic milieu that promotes safe, respectful, and supportive interactions.

  • Ensure that students are properly assessed upon admission and that treatment and discharge planning align with agency standards.

Programming and Treatment Milieu

  • Develop and oversee behavior management and behavioral tracking systems.

  • Ensure therapeutic physical interventions use the least restrictive means possible.

  • Develop and oversee Community Service and Community Integration Programs, prioritizing community safety.

  • Support program development and ensure that Treatment Teams are cohesive, informed, and effective.

  • Oversee consistent daily routines and childcare practices that address each student’s diagnostic and behavioral needs.

  • Ensure Treatment Teams provide group and individual treatment per agency standards.

  • Participate in student case reviews as indicated.

Supervision

  • Develop and oversee staff supervision standards emphasizing performance, competency, and professional role modeling.

  • Directly supervise the Assistant Residential Director, Overnight Supervisors, and Recreation Coordinator.

  • Manage staff performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and professional development.

  • Oversee and coordinate case management group supervision.

Environmental Safety, Prevention, and Care

  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures, health, and safety standards as required by regulatory agencies.

  • Evaluate safety management protocols and staff preparedness.

  • Oversee facility maintenance and ensure completion of health and safety inspections and fire drills.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with agencies such as the Board of Health, OSHA, and the Department of Public Health.

Leadership and Communication Management

  • Model adaptability, professionalism, and positive communication.

  • Maintain effective internal communication systems and represent the agency professionally in all interactions.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service toward students, families, and partners.

  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and conflict management skills.

  • Ensure clear delegation of responsibilities and effective resource management.

  • Participate actively in administrative meetings.

Licensing Regulations

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of all relevant licensing and regulatory requirements (DEEC, DESE, OSHA, etc.).

  • Ensure all programming meets applicable licensing standards.

  • Participate in licensing studies, audits, and accreditation processes.

Policy and Procedures

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of agency-wide policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all staff receive training and adhere to agency policies.

  • Oversee treatment teams’ compliance with policy implementation.

Personnel, Staff Training, and Resource Management

  • Provide oversight for staff training and development programs.

  • Manage staffing resources efficiently, including oversight of overtime.

  • Evaluate treatment and overnight teams, identifying strengths and areas for growth.

  • Ensure compliance with agency personnel practices and training standards.

  • Perform other program support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in human service management, clinical, social work, counseling, or related fields, and four to ten years related experiences and/or training in residential management and trauma informed care; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of collaborative, team-oriented management styles, interdisciplinary teams, treatment planning, employment laws, regulations, policies and ethical concerns relating to confidentiality, reporting risk management, youth participation and confrontation, juvenile court systems, social systems, legal parameters, therapeutic/legal interface, and various theories of sexual deviance.

Requires a current valid driver’s license from state of residence.
Ability to travel 25% of the time, occasional overnights, and out of state travel.
Ability to occasionally work nights, overnights, and weekends.
Ability to respond to on off-duty hours for on-call purposes.

 

Must successfully pass Department of Early Education and Care's background record check process.
