Pay: $19.00 - $24.04/hourly

 

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring smooth billing operations? Join YOU, Inc. as a Billing Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting outpatient services by managing claims, following up on unpaid balances, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Your Role

As a Billing Specialist, you will handle third-party claims, follow up on unpaid client copays and deductibles, and collaborate with administrators to resolve claim issues. Your organizational skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies will ensure timely and accurate claims processing.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on third-party claims for outpatient services, including unpaid client balances.
  • Contact payor claims departments to determine claim status and resubmit paper/electronic claims as necessary.
  • Collaborate with site administrators to address claim problems, denials, and appeals.
  • Run and review EHR reports, including insurance-based "scrubber" reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Attend insurance-related meetings or webinars to stay informed about updates.
  • Assist with special projects using Excel and communicate results effectively.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of related experience in billing or healthcare administration preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a noisy environment.
