The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor oversees and performs general maintenance operations across campus properties. This includes plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, heating systems, boiler maintenance, groundskeeping, snow and ice removal, and more. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating work orders, and ensuring safe, efficient operations of all physical structures and grounds. On-call responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and groundskeeping teams.
  • Perform and oversee repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and other trades.
  • Respond to maintenance calls and complete work orders using maintenance software.
  • Maintain grounds and roads, including seasonal tasks like snow removal and lawn care.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency lights, and alarm systems.
  • Set up facilities for events and functions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and MSDS guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials, and costs.
  • Travel to properties across MA, RI, and NH as needed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues during off-hours.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED/HiSET required.
  • Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred.
  • 1–3 years of related experience required.
  • Supervisory experience in facilities or maintenance operations.
  • Valid MA driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of building trades including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic computer skills required.
