The Residential Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, hands-on nursing care to youth residing in the DCF-contracted, EEC-licensed Medically Complex Behavioral Residence in Groton, Massachusetts. The RN plays a critical role in maintaining the physical health, safety, and well-being of youth ages 12–18 with complex medical and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include providing daily nursing care, supervising LPNs, coordinating medical appointments, managing medications, supporting training and onboarding of staff, assisting with nursing schedules, and responding to medical or behavioral crises requiring nursing intervention. The RN ensures that each resident’s medical and behavioral care plan is implemented effectively in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Pay: $44.19/hr

Direct Care: Provide daily nursing care, including medication administration, treatments, and ongoing assessments of physical and emotional health.
Supervision: Oversee and support LPNs, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Training & Support: Assist in training and onboarding new staff, including nursing and direct care team members, on health protocols, safety measures, and medication administration.
Medical Appointments: Coordinate and accompany residents to medical, dental, and specialist appointments, ensuring follow-up care and documentation.
Crisis Response: Act as a key player in managing nursing-related crises, including medical emergencies and behavioral incidents.
Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with DCF, EEC, and regulatory standards.
Team Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to develop and implement holistic, trauma-informed care plans for each resident.
Medication Management: Oversee medication administration and ensure that the Medication Administration Program (MAP) guidelines are followed.
Current Massachusetts RN License.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience (preferably in behavioral health, residential, or medically complex settings).
Experience working with medically complex and behavioral health needs is highly preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate care across multiple providers and systems.
Valid driver’s license.
