At YOU Inc., we are on a mission to support and empower vulnerable youth through evidence-based, individualized care. As one of the most respected behavioral health and child welfare organizations in Massachusetts, we are seeking a Clinical Coordinator to lead clinical and case management services within our DCF-contracted ER/IER residential programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed, experienced clinician who is not only committed to trauma-informed, youth-centered services, but also eager to mentor staff, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure the highest standards of care.

 

As a vital member of our leadership team, the Clinical Coordinator oversees all clinical and case management activities within the residential program. You will be responsible for guiding a team of clinicians and case managers, ensuring youth receive timely, appropriate, and individualized services in alignment with state licensing and best-practice standards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Oversight & Leadership

    • Provide weekly individual and group supervision to all clinical staff

    • Offer mentorship, performance feedback, and disciplinary support as needed

    • Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, assessments, and care coordination

  • Case Management Coordination

    • Coordinate the referral and intake process, ensuring clinical appropriateness of placements

    • Assign cases thoughtfully and manage caseload distribution across staff

    • Ensure continuity of care and communication between internal departments, families, and external providers

  • Documentation & Compliance

    • Support audits and review clinical records to ensure compliance with COA, DCF, EEC, and HIPAA standards

    • Prepare and maintain licensing readiness through proactive documentation reviews and training

  • Direct Clinical Services

    • Carry and maintain a small clinical caseload of youth

    • Provide individual, family, and group therapy as needed

    • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, intakes, treatment planning, and discharge coordination

  • Risk Management & Crisis Response

    • Serve as part of the on-call clinical support team

    • Respond to emergency situations, conduct risk assessments, and assist with de-escalation and safety planning

  • Collaborative Program Support

    • Partner with the Building Administrator to meet operational needs and ensure program effectiveness

    • Attend and contribute to treatment team meetings, utilization reviews, and quality improvement initiatives

    • Supervise MSW/clinical interns when assigned, contributing to the next generation of clinical professionals

Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field

  • Active, independent clinical license in Massachusetts (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a residential treatment or behavioral health setting

  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical assessment, treatment planning, case coordination, and discharge planning

  • Knowledge of COA, DCF, EEC, HIPAA regulations, and documentation compliance standards

  • Experience supervising clinical staff and managing team dynamics

  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and digital documentation systems

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to respond to safety or behavioral crises, including restraint protocols when necessary

  • Must be alert, responsive, and professional while on shift, including during on-call rotations

  • Commitment to a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally competent approach
