Learning and Development Specialist
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $26.44 – $27.40/hour
Stetson School is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to support the professional growth and development of our staff. This role reports to the Learning and Development Manager and is responsible for delivering educational services, coordinating orientation activities, and developing enrichment and learning opportunities.
Assist the Learning and Development Manager in designing, implementing, and evaluating staff training programs and continuing education initiatives
Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning solutions
Partner with subject matter experts to create content, pilot programs, and gather feedback to ensure effective training delivery
Acquire, develop, and coordinate learning materials that meet agency standards and regulatory requirements
Organize and conduct orientation programs for new employees in collaboration with Human Resources
Ensure new staff receive the information, skills, and resources needed to succeed
Plan and coordinate conferences, seminars, workshops, and demonstrations to advance the mission of the Foundation and its affiliates
Liaise with affiliate partners to understand training needs and provide appropriate learning solutions
Maintain and update the Learning Management System (LMS) and employee training records
Attain or maintain required certifications to teach mandated courses
Ensure all training materials and programs adhere to accrediting and regulatory standards
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support staff development and organizational goals
Bachelor’s degree required
5–10 years of related experience in education, human services, developmental disabilities, nursing, rehabilitation, training, or a closely related field
Proven experience coordinating continuing education programs for a large and diverse staff
Travel to area offices may be required
Standard driver’s license – Class C or D
Instructional certifications such as CPR/First Aid Trainer, Safety Care Instructor, and others as required
Ability to attain or maintain required certifications for training delivery
Learning Management Systems (LMS): Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning development
Training Needs Analysis: Identify and assess training requirements
Training Delivery: Effectively conduct in-person and virtual training sessions
Strong initiative, collaboration, flexibility, detail-orientation, and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to perform primary job functions while sitting or standing for extended periods
Tasks may involve pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping, stooping, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, crawling, walking, running, or climbing
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently or up to 200 lbs with assistance
Ability, with training, to perform appropriate physical restraint as needed
Specific vision requirements: peripheral vision and depth perception
Must remain awake, alert, and able to respond while on duty
Ability to work in noisy environments and drive as needed
