We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our Psychiatry Team. This role is essential to the smooth delivery of psychiatric services, combining clinical, administrative, and patient care responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of care and confidentiality.

 

Pay: $21.00 - 24.00 / hour

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client intake, including collecting vital signs, medication lists, and medical history.
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups.
  • Accurately document clinical information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Schedule psychiatric appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Support medication refill requests and prior authorization processes.
  • Communicate with pharmacies and insurance companies as needed.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and compliant clinical areas.
  • Triage client phone calls and escalate urgent concerns appropriately.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and agency confidentiality policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 0–3 years of related experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Valid Class C or D license required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with EHR systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting
