This position manages the operations of general maintenance and landscaping for the entire agency. Directs and manages staff and participants employed in maintenance and landscaping for the agency.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and completes various property maintenance procedures required to maintain the safety and comfort of homes and buildings.

Directs and evaluates landscaping and facilities staff.

Communicates with MHRH, DOH, State Fire Marshall etc. as needed.

Assures equipment is in proper working order. Purchases and inventories tools and power equipment.

With the approval of the Director hires sub contractors through a bidding process and monitors work performed for quality and code adherence.

Assists the Director in developing a Capital budget for maintenance/facilities needs.

Performs work in compliance with Human Rights regulations.

Conducts program site inspections monthly/quarterly and as needed, maintaining records of maintenance needs and repairs.

May work independently of direct supervision or, at times, alone.

Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

Associates Degree or equivalency or comparable experience required in the position of minimum of 3-5 years. Moderate to high degree of experience or knowledge in most aspects of general maintenance, including but not limited to painting, roofing, general construction, sub contracting, plumbing, security and fire safety, record keeping, supervision, landscaping equipment and techniques, HVAC, electrical and training techniques. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history. Able to communicate verbally, through touch, visually and in writing. Basic budgeting and mathematical skills. Proven ability to demonstrate tact, good judgment and initiative in interactions with participants, peers, family members and the general public. Basic computer skills. Able to work with minimal supervision.
