Provide direct support to individuals in therapeutically developed program activities in a Community Based Day Support (CBDS) program and / or employment opportunities. Perform the required training and documentation necessary for group and individual participant goal achievement. As a direct support professional, you may be required to provide essential care and support to individuals with a diverse spectrum of abilities and challenges. 

 

Pay: $20
Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 (50% paid at 6 months and 50% paid at 12 months)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized and group instructional units across various settings.
  • Ensure delivery of Individual Support Plan (ISP) requirements, including direct support and documentation.
  • Support individuals in work and community environments based on their needs.
  • Implement behavior support strategies in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Provide transportation to assigned locations.
  • Work on-site or off-site as directed by the supervisor.
  • Encourage personal growth through choice, initiation, and risk-taking opportunities.
  • Treat individuals with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Maintain required trainings, certifications, and licensures.
  • Safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
  • Uphold and model the organization’s philosophy, mission, and values.
  • Respond to safety hazards and emergencies appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
  • Follow maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED/HiSET required.
  • Standard driver’s license (Class C or D).
  • 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Completion of healthcare training or competency evaluation program preferred.
  • Alternative qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus two years' experience (preferred) working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a day program or vocational setting. A related Bachelor's' degree may be used to substitute part or all of the work experience.
