Seven Hills Foundation is proud to participate in the Statewide Urban Youth Collaborative (UYCP) internship program. The purpose of this program is to offer students from diverse backgrounds in residential, day habilitation, and administrative settings to explore careers in human services.  The goal is to provide the opportunity for the interns to experience the work and learn about the people we serve, and the hope is that, ultimately, this exposure may inspire the interns to consider pursuing a career within the Human Services Field.

 

This program has been funded and coordinated by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) since 1992.

Responsibilities

Participate in all Urban Youth internship meetings and events throughout the summer.

 

Provide assistance as needed for program participants’ needs including dining, transfers, transitioning, and ambulation as trained and as assigned.

 

Implement positive behavioral supports for individuals, as warranted, as trained, and as directed.

 

Provide individual and group programming with an emphasis upon the development of age appropriate behaviors.

 

Be familiar with, and assist in the implementation of, the Seven Hills Foundation Policies & Procedures, the site’s Program Specific Policies & Procedures and the regulations governing the program.

 

Carry out all responsibilities professionally and efficiently.

Work in harmony and in support of all the operating Affiliates of the Seven Hills Foundation.

 

Qualifications

Applicant must be between 18-24 years old and be a high school or college student.

 

Must have a reliable form of transportation.

 

Accurate data entry skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications; excellent verbal and organizational skills.
