Oversee entire operation of Environmental Services, Dietary Department, also responsible for inventory, ordering and distributing medical supplies.
Involved in all management aspects of the Environmental Services Departments, Dietary Department, and management duties involved in procuring medical supplies throughout the facility.
• Recruit, interview, hire and train competent staff.
• Administer department discipline.
• Review and monitor staff in a timely manner and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure that staff is in compliance with mandatory in-service programs.
• Plan and prepare budget for salaries, supplies and equipment for the Service Departments.
• Maintain current written record of department expenditures.
• Order or oversee ordering, distribution and storage of all food supplies, cleaning and paper products and medical supplies.
• Maintain cleaning and repair of equipment pertinent to Service Department.
• Work with Director of Nursing and Nursing supervisors to procure medical equipment and supplies.
• Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility including common areas, resident rooms, education department, storage areas and dietary department.
• Has working rapport with representatives from laundry provider, medical supply distributor, food service distributor and housekeeping services.
• Maintain all service departments within the guidelines and regulations set forth by the Department of Public Health.
• Report to and work closely with Administrator to implement changes and corrections within the service departments.
• Perform monthly environmental rounds worksheet.
• Participate as an active member of the Performance Improvement Committee and the Staff Activities Committee.
• Must have excellent organizational skills, computer knowledge and telephone skills.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and be a proactive participant on the facility management team.
• Ability to make corrective decisions in a timely manner with accurate follow through.
• Must communicate effectively with residents, families, co-workers and other members of the Seven Hills Foundation.
• Complete facility-mandated in-service education.
• Must maintain a high level of personal hygiene and sanitation.
• Must be a positive representative of the facility.
Minimum of ten years experience in the service industry field. Focus on food service management preferred. Must hold or obtain a Dietary Management Certification. Must have current safe-serve certifications as mandated by law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
