Overview

The Crotched Mountain School, now part of Seven Hills New Hampshire, is seeking a Vocational Coordinator to join our team of exceptional professionals dedicated to improving the lives of our students.

Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Situated on thousands of acres of preserved habitat, CMS offers a therapeutic environment in which students are encouraged to explore and thrive.

Role Overview: Join the Crotched Mountain School as a Vocational Coordinator/Teacher to lead our vocational and transition program. Develop curriculum, teach career development, and manage job opportunities for students both on and off-campus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement student transition plans in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Assess student capabilities and align them with training and job opportunities.
  • Coach and support vocational program staff.
  • Design pre-vocational activities to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Conduct vocational evaluations to understand student skills and interests.
  • Guide students through job application processes.
  • Coordinate job placements and experiential learning activities.
  • Set and track vocational goals and objectives for IEPs and residential plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress.
  • Collaborate with the School Principal and Residential Director on student transportation.
  • Represent the vocational program to stakeholders including parents and potential employers.

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
