Overview

Under the supervision of the Chief Learning and Development Officer (CLDO), the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the delivery of training, including new employee orientation, compliance and leadership training and basic technical training.

Responsibilities

The L&D Specialist assists the CLDO, with the development and implementation of staff training, basic technical training and continuing education. Organizes, coordinates and conducts new employee orientation programs, compliance training and leadership training; Conducts needs assessments, designs, develops, and measures the results of learning and development solutions. This position will partner with subject matter experts for major training initiatives to gather information, create content, pilot new programs, and solicit feedback to validate final content delivery. The L&D Specialist will also coordinate and develop training materials and learning aides for employees that meets the agencies' needs and adheres to professional and regulatory standards. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, learning and development or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ training or leadership experience in education, adult learning, health and human services or a closely related field and proven experience in coordinating and delivering training or continuing educational programs for a large and diverse staff. One (1) year of technical training experience desired
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and theory, classroom facilitation skills and asynchronous training.
  • Proficiency in training delivery, facilitation skills, learning management systems, e-learning platforms, learning management systems (Docebo preferred), HRIS, and Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences. Driver’s license required. Some travel to worksites across MA, RI and NH will be required.
