Overview

The Director of Commercial Software Systems (COTS) will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and optimization of our electronic systems including the clinical and financial systems. This role involves leading a dedicated team, ensuring system integration and efficiency, and providing strategic guidance to enhance our clinical and financial systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both clinical and financial technologies, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for advancing healthcare through technology.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals and analysts specializing in clinical and financial systems.
    • Foster a collaborative environment and promote professional development within the team.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
  • System Oversight and Optimization:
    • Manage and support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of COTS clinical and financial systems.
    • Ensure systems are functioning efficiently, meeting healthcare regulations, and aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop and implement strategies for system optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align clinical and financial system strategies with organizational objectives.
    • Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, integrations, and new technology deployments.
    • Assess and address system performance issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all clinical and financial system-related inquiries and issues.
    • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and HR teams to ensure system needs are met and enhancements are made.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
  • Compliance and Data Management:
    • Ensure clinical and financial systems comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).
    • Oversee data integrity, security, and privacy in alignment with organizational policies.
    • Implement and monitor data quality control measures.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage the budget for clinical and financial systems, including forecasting and expense tracking.
    • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
    • Allocate resources effectively to support system needs and projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT management, with significant experience in clinical and financial systems.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, data management, and system integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
