Sign on bonus $4,000 (50% paid at 6 months and 50% paid at 12 months)
Stetson School is an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation. We are a residential treatment program for youth with trauma related complex behaviors, currently hiring a Senior Residential Supervisor
The Senior Residential Supervisor will be responsible for providing mentorship to residential supervisors through assisting them with their development as team leaders, providing effective staff supervisions, and ensuring policies and procedures are being followed to maintain campus safety and security. In addition, the Senior Residential Supervisor will assist with managing scheduling needs.
The Senior Residential Supervisor will work under the guidance of the Assistant Residential Director’s and Residential Director in meeting the supervision and milieu oversight expectations and general operations of the campus.
The Senior Residential Supervisor will have a hybrid rotating schedule to support both front half and back half supervisors during second shift residential hours to ensure consistency in approaches and structure within the milieu.
Staff Development
· Provides bi-monthly, individual mentor sessions with each residential supervisor and provides the responsible ARD with feedback for each supervisor.
· Works with the supervisors to ensure all paperwork is completed professionally and on time. This included incident reports, supervisor’s logs, significant incident reports, injury reports, etc.
· Ensures that Residential Supervisors are working cohesively to meet the needs of the youth and the staff through mentoring on the floor and conducting individual coaching sessions.
· Assists Residential Supervisors as needed, to provide formal supervision to Child Care Specialists and Senior Child Care Specialists in accordance with Stetson School procedure.
· Advises supervisors on the agendas of small team meetings and coaches on how to conduct these meetings, as needed.
· Ensures Residential Supervisor’s submit weekly tracking of this performance to the Assistant Residential Director.
· Works with Residential Supervisors to oversee completion of orientation of new direct care staff, including review of job description and completion of a 90-day evaluation and 180-day supervision model.
· Assesses development needs of unit staff and provides training when necessary.
· Constructs and provides development and / or corrective action plans for individual supervisees as necessary and ensures the necessary teaching and tracking.
· Actively seeks to enhance professional knowledge and skills, given the reasonable opportunity to do so.
· Assists to initiate progressive discipline of staff in accordance with Stetson School procedure, and under the direction of the Assistant Residential Director.
Staffing and Schedule
· Maintains assigned master schedule and reports to Assistant Residential Directors on the effectiveness of daily staff configuration.
· Assists Residential Supervisors with shift vacancies to provide mandatory ratio.
· Assists Case Managers in the staffing of student visit transports and monitored visits.
· Monitors direct care staff attendance for call out patterns and other attendance problems.
· Tracks use of overtime / extra time for maximum safety and efficiency.
· Tracks 1:1 usage and submits monthly tracking, as required.
· Interviews direct care candidates and makes hiring recommendations to Assistant Residential Director.
· Ensures appropriate personnel paperwork for the interview is complete and forwarded to the Assistant Human Resources Director.
Residential Programming
· Provides a safe environment for both staff and students by implementing appropriate management techniques and providing direction and leadership to the department.
· Ensures unit structure is being maintained and identifies with Residential Supervisors areas of needed support and instruction.
· Works with Residential Supervisors to evaluate functional unit recreation and group schedules and ensures staff are adhering to schedules.
· Oversees skills groups and other residential programming for students in coordination with the Assistant Residential Director and in accordance with relevant program design.
Policy, procedures and oversight
· Maintains awareness of all Stetson School policies and how to reference them.
· Ensures that all Stetson School policies and procedures are followed by Residential Supervisors and those staff under their direct supervision, especially the Student Supervision Guidelines.
· Assists with responding to students’ behavior in accordance with Stetson School’s Behavior Support policy and the principles of CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
· Oversees proper utilization of CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) by direct care staff and works with Residential Supervisors to provide debriefings.
· Performs the activities of CPI physical intervention, as noted on page seven (7) titled, Addendum to Essential Functions Regarding Specific Activities of CPI Restraint Process
· Ensures least restrictive measures of therapeutic physical interventions.
Standards of Care
· Ensures Stetson School standards of care are achieved consistently by all direct care staff.
· Ensures a safe and therapeutic milieu is provided at all times.
· Evaluates and communicates individual student needs to appropriate program staff.
· Ensures that all staff model and demonstrate care giver qualities that treat all students with dignity and respect.
· Promotes staff interventions that support the Stetson School’s ACORN approach.
· Facilitates student visits and treats family and visitors with dignity and respect.
· Ensures telephone and mail contact with family or other identified supportive adults in accordance with the individual service plan and program rules and standards.
· Prevents interactions that are not sanctioned within the rules, practices, and policies of Stetson School. Prevents actions and disparaging comments that may be considered horseplay, roughhousing, and/or derogatory comments and demeaning gestures.
· Monitors staff-to-student interactions, including professional boundaries, and responds to any concerns according to program procedures.
· Acts as a role model and reinforces pro-social behaviors with students and staff.
Health and Safety
· Distributes prescribed medication to designated students, as trained and when approved, under the direction of nursing personnel.
· Communicates and documents any medication issues per Stetson School procedure.
· Ensures completion of unit fire drills, evacuation drills, and monthly Health and Safety Inspections, and periodic room searches, as required.
· Ensures a safe, clean and organized physical plant consistently on assigned unit(s).
Documentation
· Works with Residential Supervisors to ensure required paperwork and unit documentation is completed by appropriate staff.
· Oversees and calculates data as required for various studies, surveys, and/or research as part of team or campus needs.
· Completes required supervisory paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Milieu Leadership and Management Expectations
· Actively participates in unit management team meetings professionally representing the interests and function of the residential component of the team.
· Effectively communicates essential information to relevant program staff.
· Acts as a positive and professional role model for staff and students.
· Evaluates and communicates concerns and needs of the daily program routines, including the personal and professional concerns of the supervisors and direct care staff.
· Oversees behavioral management interventions within the unit setting.
· Maintains cooperative and helpful presentation and performance commensurate with a team leadership role.
· Participates in assigned Stetson School or Seven Hills Foundation committee meetings.
Work Habits
· Performs all essential duties of Residential Supervisors, Child Care Specialists and Senior Child Care Specialists when needed.
· Remains awake and alert while on duty.
· Maintains ample attendance and punctuality to provide essential in charge functions. ‘
· Manages multiple priorities and respond to assignments in a timely fashion.

Senior Residential Supervisors are provided a paid 10-day New Employee Orientation and receive training on CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention Intervention & Trauma-Informed Care. They also receive program-specific training at the worksite.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and One year’s experience in human services; or associate degree with 2 years of experience in human services; or four years of experience in human services with a minimum Certificate of Achievement from public high school in Massachusetts, documentation of home-schooling equivalent to a high school diploma, GED, or High School Diploma. Special training or specific skills; student internship or volunteer work may be credited toward experience.
