Overview

Under supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Behavior Analyst/Senior Clinician will develop and supervise the implementation of behavior support plans, attend meetings, and provide technical assistance with behavioral issues as needed. The position requires proficiency with the delivery of behavior analytic and/or the rapeutic services and supports for to individuals with developmental disabilities within their natural environments. Must be able to coordinate communication between administrative and clinical staff, the residential program, and participating providers/organizations. Maintains compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations, and will support/train staff as needed.

 

Responsibilities

Delivers a continuum of comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments (at varying levels of intensity as per DDS regulations). 

 

Develops and maintains supporting working relationships with the individual’s families/guardians.

 

Conducts functional behavior assessments.

 

Develops, monitors, and evaluates comprehensive functional assessment-based behavior support plans targeting both reductions of challenging behavior and acquisition of replacement skills.

 

Maintains responsibility for staff/caregiver training, coaching, and on-site technical assistance as a means of ensuring accurate behavior plan implementation.

 

Provides on-site oversight of behavior support plan implementation on a regular basis (minimum of monthly visits).

Qualifications

Master’s degree, preferably in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, mental health counseling, or a related field.  Requires BCBA or professional licensure (e.g., psychologist, LMHC, LICSW).  Dual credentials and/or professional training and experience in mental health, acquired brain injury, and/or positive behavior support (PBS) preferred.

 

Supervised training and experience delivering comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual  disabilities within their natural environments, including conducting functional behavior assessments and designing/implementing/monitoring behavior support plans.  Experience implementing positive behavior support strategies and/or verbal behavior assessment and intervention preferred.

Demonstrated skills in a variety of observation and data collection techniques; behavior analytic assessment and intervention techniques; proficiency with competency-based training and monitoring.

 

Training and experience with clinical supervision, preferably in the delivery of behavior analytic services.

 

Knowledge of human development, learning, behavior analysis, positive behavior support, collaborative consultation, and abnormal psychology.

 

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  Ability to adjust to different environments. 

 

Valid driver’s license, ability to drive, and means of consistent transportation.

 

Travel to other cities and towns may be required.
