Overview

$20 per hour

 

Seven Hills Care Staffing Solutions, Talent Care Float Staff (DSP) are part of a professional support team responsible for assisting Seven Hills Affiliates meet support goals and ratio/contract criteria.  The Direct Support Professional will provide direct support to persons’ served including providing assistance in personal care activities at assigned locations/programs. Must be willing to commute up to 45 miles.

Responsibilities

Ensures that all essential student needs are met each shift, according to guidelines.

•Treat all persons supported with dignity and respect.
•Travel to assigned programs on a daily/weekly basis as dictated by program needs and authorized by supervisor.  May be different program, affiliate or assignment on any given day/week.
•Ensure all individual essentials needs are met according to affiliate, program and/or shift guidelines as well as any specific individual service, development or behavior plan.
•Support individuals to take control of their lives, to make wise decisions that enhance their ability to reach their goals. To support individuals to take on as much control as possible over the routines and activities in their home, where applicable, including but not limited to shopping, cooking, cleaning and maintenance.
•Teach, assist and support individuals in the community and at home so that the individual is able to learn, practice and master skills that enable him/her to enhance his/her status by assuming socially accepted roles.
•When working with individuals regarding desirable behavioral, health, hygiene and personal habits in accordance with program policy and procedures.
•Support each person’s existing relationships and increase their networks of friends and acquaintances in accordance with the individual’s service plan and program rules and standards.
•Facilitate scheduled visits with individual’s family or other identified supportive adult in accordance with service, development or behavior plan. 
•Drive assigned individuals to designated program or community activities.
•Transition individuals to designated program activities in accordance with program rules.
•Ensure that the health and well-being of individuals are met by accompanying individuals on appointments as needed, administering medications in accordance with residential guidelines and other applicable policies, providing a well-balanced diet prepared to meet individual needs, following all instructions given by Primary Care Physician and Health Care Coordinator.
•Maintain appropriate staff to individual interaction including professional boundaries.
•Maintain all required trainings and certifications including but not limited to medication administration, First Aid, CPR, Safety Care and other mandated trainings.

Qualifications

Associates’ Degree in a human services related field or a minimum of six months experience working in a human services environment, one year preferred. C.N.A. and Home Health Aide experience a plus. 

 

Commitment to assisting individuals (adults and children) with developmental, behavioral and physical disabilities and other life challenges in program and community settings;  Safe passenger vehicle and good driving record, adequate insurance, drivers’ license from state of residence required; Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history); Ability to work as part of a team and communicate as necessary between supervisors, programs and peers; Willingness to work in multiple residential and/or other program settings and to travel to various sites as needed.  Specialized training or specific skills, student intern experience or volunteer work may be credited towards experience
