The Group Home Director is provided a paid 10-day New Employee Orientation and receive training on CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention Intervention & Trauma-Informed Care. They also receive program-specific training at the worksite.

Responsibilities

The Group Home Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Evaluating, coordinating, and directing the treatment milieu and services provided to the students in our care.
  • Responsible to ensure that Department of Early Education (DEEC) and Care and Department of Children and Family (DCF) regulatory standards are met, and that policies and procedures are operationalized.
  • Responsible for providing direct supervision of management staff and oversight of supervision for direct care staff and functions as an integral member of the administrative team.

The Group Home Director position should have strong experience with:

  • Leadership
  • Meetings and communication management
  • Staff resource and development
  • DEEC and DCF Residential programming, policy, and procedure oversight
  • Health and safety
  • Documentation and reporting
  • Service delivery/therapeutic planning, and licensing

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human service management, clinical, social work, counseling, or related fields preferred; and four to ten years related experience and/or residential management; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must pass Criminal, DCF Abuse and Neglect, Sex offender Registry and Federal
    Fingerprinting background record checks.
  • Knowledge of collaborative, team-oriented management styles, interdisciplinary teams, treatment planning, employment laws, regulations, policies and ethical concerns relating to confidentiality, reporting risk management, youth participation and confrontation, juvenile court systems, social systems, legal paraments, therapeutic/legal interface.
  • MAP certification required within 6 months of hire.

  • Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the Harrington Way team.
