The Assistant Program Director/RN works in conjunction with the Program Director as a program administrator to provide supervision of program nursing staff and direct care support professionals and works to advocates for the safety and medical needs of assigned program participants.
• Interpreting facility and nursing philosophies and objectives with staff in order to facilitate their implementation at Seven Hills at Groton.
• Developing and reviewing programs, goals and objectives based on priorities and resources of Seven Hills at Groton MCBR in collaboration with other program administration.
• Assisting the Program Director in the implementation of program specifications per contract, regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and/or other laws and regulations related to service delivery.
• Assisting in implementing QA/QI programs and initiating changes based on findings.
• Interpreting budgetary process to nursing staff to ensure fiscal constraints are met and supported.
• Responsible for supporting in the admission/discharge procedures of clients.
• Assisting the Program Director with interviewing, promoting, employing, providing performance counseling as necessary and terminating nursing and support staff according to agency policy.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff as well as mandatory in-service trainings in a timely manner.
• Assisting with the staff evaluations.
• Facilitating and supporting effective communication and collaboration among nursing staff and direct care staff to achieve defined goals for client care.
• Working on special projects according to facility needs to support the functionality of the program milieu.
• Document all nursing interventions and changes for program participants.
• Review plans of care for current knowledge of programming as required by the Department of Children and Families, EEC, and/or other agencies.
• Maintain current medication and treatment orders noting any side effects and/or adverse effects and report to appropriate individuals.
• Maintain health records according to various government agencies as required. Ensure that information is communicated to residential staff and school program regarding recommendations and treatment.
• Attend staff meetings to present all current medical/health concerns to team.
• Ensure that residents are sufficiently observed to maintain their safety and optimal health.
• Flexibility with schedule and on-call responsibility
• Assisting initiating the assessment of needs, in collaboration with staff.
• Assisting with the planning, developing and implementing programs which focus on the delivery and evaluation of resident care.
• Assisting with the development, utilization and evaluation of standards of nursing care relevant to patient populations, in collaboration with staff.
• Attending all required meetings.
• Complete and maintain all required training, certifications, and licensures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of Three (3) years of nursing practice.
• Progressive leadership experience and demonstrated managerial ability
• Supervisor of shift experience preferred
• Valid Driving license
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on occasion and with assistance.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases.
• Annual influenza vaccination is mandatory.
• Must pass pre-employment physical examination including drug screen.
• Must be physically able to move sufficiently enough to respond to emergency situations, including the potential to engaging in physical intervention to support client safety.
• Ability to perform primary job functions while sitting, typing, and viewing computer screen for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to complete all functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
