Provide personal care as needed to assigned student within day and/or residential program. Carry over educational and behavioral goals throughout student’s school and living environments. Participate in on-going communication with student’s teacher, as well as nursing staff.

Implement the goals and objectives identified by the student’s educational team

Implement behavioral program, record keeping and data collection procedures as specified by the student’s educational team

Implement age appropriate activities

Implement the student’s activities of daily living program

Communicate effectively with staff from other departments to assure carryover of programming

Participate in field trips and swimming programs with the assigned student

Foster social and communication skills consistent with the students’ abilities

Participate in in-service training programs

Meet with educational team members on a regular basis

Transfer and positioning of students

Participate in mealtime programs with students

Adhere to infection control and other safety procedures and policies of SHPC

Participate in unit meetings and committees as requested or volunteered

High School graduate/ GED

Must complete a Certified Nursing Assistant program within 3 months of hire, unless currently certified or holding a relevant professional certification or licensure.

Experience with severely handicapped children preferred
