Overview

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading a shift of residential counselor staff in one of YOU, Inc.’s 24-hour/7-day-a-week acute or congregate care settings. To this end, the Shift Supervisor works in ratio as part of a team of staff, with the responsibility for creating, monitoring, and maintaining a therapeutic treatment milieu. Shift Supervisors are considered “essential employees” and as such may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shifts in order to maintain client to staff ratios and/or be required to report to work during declared states of emergency.


The Shift Supervisor insures the safety and supervision of staff and youth in the program, cultivates a therapeutic treatment milieu, maintains daily programming schedule, cultivates a professional team of staff, maintains appropriate boundaries while developing supportive professional relationships with both staff and youth, participates in the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility, documents client care, and if necessary, utilizes agency physical management interventions.

 

**New Hire Sign-On Bonus: $500 ($250 paid after 6 months, $250 paid after 12 months of continuous employment.)

*$250 paid towards student loans per year completed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordination of services on shift.
  • Primary responsibilities include overseeing behavior management, supervision of evening staff, and ensuring safety of the milieu.
  • Functions as part of the management team.
  • Provide quality clinical and residential services within the therapeutic milieu.
  • Responsible for supervision of other counselors and staff on shift.
  • Provide crisis management.
  • Responsible for ongoing safety and supervision of youth within the program setting.
  • Responsible for maintenance and implementation of program policies and program development. 

Qualifications

  • Experience with youth in a residential setting required.
  • High School Diploma or HiSET Required.
  • Med Certified preferred.
  • BA/BS in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with youth, families, and children preferred.
  • At least one to two years of supervisory experience/management experience is required. 
  • Ability to build rapport and work effectively with others.
