The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Contracted Care will oversee the operations and management of YOU, Inc.’s state-contracted residential care and community-based supports and resources. To this end the AVP will ensure the successful oversight of multiple residential Group Homes, STARR services, Teen Living Program, Foster Care, Family Networks and other state contracts as they arise. The AVP, in conjunction with the VP of Behavioral Health, will be responsible for the clinical, financial, regulatory, personnel, community relations, technological, and facility aspects of running these programs.


  • Provide strategic vision, leadership, regulatory compliance, and oversight of and for the state-contracted Programming at YOU, Inc.
  • Develop and analyze programming and other initiatives in state contracted care area such that agency strategic goals are met and the service area is positioned to be a leader in the industry.
  • Responsible for staff development in BH services recognizing a commitment to developing a workforce that is inclusive of diversity and committed to the mission and values of YOU, Inc.; the AVP will also hire, train, and directly supervise the Directors of contracted services to ensure successful program management.
  • Ensure that the BH Directors are running their clinical areas such that the highest quality clinical care is provided and documented in keeping with best practice standards, regulatory standards and agency standards.
  • Ensure that all training, quality assurance, contractual and legal regulatory compliance, productivity standards and program specifications are met.
  • In conjunction with the Directors, develop a budget/s for the programs to be reviewed and approved by the VP for Behavioral Health, the CEO, and the CFO. Monitors budgets regularly and ensures that all fiscal expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and address issues of risk and/or potential risk, and report issues of immediate concern to the VPs, and the CEO if needed.
  • Compose oneself with professionalism, ethical practice, and compassionate regard for consumers/clients. 


  • Proven history of extensive program development, analysis, and management; budget development and successful fiscal management; staff development; and strategic and visionary leadership in outpatient and/or home-based clinical work.
  • Highly knowledgeable of clinical treatment and program specifications, regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and other laws and regulations related to clinical care.
  • High level of knowledge and competence with psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment, safety planning, general comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, discharge planning. Ability to ensure that clinical care meets medical necessity and that service delivery meets all compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, teaching ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a senior management team helping to develop strategy and direction for the agency, and particularly for the behavioral services division.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.
  • Independent Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an LICSW, LMHC, LMFT or licensed psychologist.
  • Minimum of 10 years clinical and supervisory experience in behavioral health setting (Outpatient and/or CBHI/Home-based service delivery), preferably working with child, adolescent, and family services
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including but not limited to budget management, programmatic development, and personnel management.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health/Billing Record required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities preferred.
