The Behavior Specialist Assistant is responsible for providing direct support to individuals with unique behavioral and/or mental health challenges. The Behavior Specialist will provide training via direct instruction and modeling to the Direct Support Staff, particularly with regard to the implementation of the Behavior Support Plan/Individual Support Plan as well as the proper documentation thereof.
Provide Assistance to the Behavior Specialist and Clinical Director in the development of teaching procedures for the implementation of each of the goals and objectives in the Individual Support Plan and Behavior support plan.
The collection of data for each goal and objective frequency as defined in the teaching plans and programs.
The submission of all data sheets to the Behavior Specialist or Clinical Director as directed.
Completion of progress reports as noted in Individual Support Plan.
Assisting the Behavior Specialist in the analysis of data collected and development of graphic data presentations to determine teaching program effectiveness.
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education or related field preferred with experience in the field of mental health and developmental disabilities. Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges preferred.
